Greetings !

I do a lot of paper folding ( origami - ori: paper, gami: fold ) which is probably why I invented a paper and pencil game called ' Connect Score '.

The game mixes Chess with Dots and Boxes.

Thought I had invented another ' Monopoly ', and I would make a million dollars ! HA ! WAS I EVER WRONG.

Connect Score is a ' strategy ' game. Strategy games only have a niche market potential, not a main stream market like Monopoly, Scrabble and other popular games.

----------------------------------

Anyway...

Connect Score is for 2 players, ages 12 to adult.

Game objective - Stars ( dots ) are joined with pencil lines. Activated snipers ( chess pieces ) shoot and kill each other for points. The player with the highest score wins the game.

If you want to take a look at this game or play it, you can find ' Connect Capture ' on Google.

---------------------------------------

Anyone else here invent a paper and pencil game ?

Did you invent a paper and pencil game and then program it into a PC game ?

I bought Jesse Schell's book called ' The Art of Game Design ' and find it to be very interesting.

Rick

You can ENTER this into BGG as your own 'design' too, Rick, may I call you that? It'll bring you greater exposure also, since you can put photos and the like within its 'entry' here. You will even obtain a *nifty* "Designer" badge like mine, although I aught to 'get' some TOTALLY exclusive, one-of-the-only-kind that 'moi' deserved, too!

cool Look under that "Misc." menu for "Add a Boardgame" and "Add a Designer" to get you started there, and best regards upon everything.

Congratulations on your first design! As long as you enjoy reading books about games, and since you already know about the "pencil and paper genre", you might enjoy some books on the subject (I did).

See these for ideas inspiration, and games to play!:

Now that the game is in the database, you should add a weblink to your page for Connect Score.

(I forget... are weblinks worth geekgold?)
