If there is a Dvonn piece in a stack, is that stack considered connected to that Dvonn piece?

This was something that my opponent and I couldn't figure out during our first play today.

Yes. If a Dvonn is in your stack, the stack is connected. This can be quite powerful if you end up moving that stack causing your opponents' pieces to become unconnected.
