I was wondering if anyone had any experience in getting components? or boxes replaced for Fresco.
I've emailed Queens early so I thought maybe they are busy with Essen.
I ordered my game from overseas (States) and opened it, I noticed the inside box was scuffed in the corners, and thought I can probably live with that (remember this is the inside box.) You can see it in the component picture.
Everything looked fine, and I punched out the chips, but when I went to put the cardboard under the insert I saw this.
Two opposite corners were torn, and the other 2 scuffed.
The board has a bit of squashing also, and a m-artisan with one leg.
This is inside the box, not the outside lid. I thought maybe transport, but the top box is in pretty good condition (otherwise I would see damage on the outside box as well). When I saw it I thought it looked like a well used 2nd hand version, BUT all the boards were unpunched and everything was sealed. (See the first picture)
( I took a careful look at the first picture and I can sort of see the bottom lid damage already on the first picture. ) PS I think this is a great game and will definitely buy other games from Queens, but I was really sad when I saw this. I'm hoping I might have some luck in getting it replaced.

I know when it comes to replacing components they are good. My copy came missing the color combinations card and they promptly got it to me. I don't know what they do about bigger items (like boxes).

That's great news. I should double check to make sure I have all the components.

Re: damaged inside box but the outside box is fine
Well I find that Queen Games are good at replacing components but very bad at including all compnents when you first buy a game
I'm don't think that replacing the box is their duty as damage to a box, that did not come directly from them, could have occurred after it left they sold it on.This said they may be willing to help as they are kind folks.
I would get in touch with the seller and see if they will offer a partial refund or a complete refund.

Re: damaged inside box but the outside box is fine
Thanks Liam for the post.
Unfortunately, I bought it online from America...They only refund/give replacements if you send it back within 3 days. It took a while to get here. The other games that came together were not damaged. The damage was inside bottom lid, and the top lid was not damaged.
Queen Games has a great reputation, even my friends praise them highly. They have contacted me and I am grateful for their awesome support. Thank you Queen Games.

Yes, I'm afraid it does sound rather unfair on you. Do tell us how contact with Queen Games goes.

Re: damaged inside box ..but everything is ok now
thank you for everyone's quick posts. Really appreciate it.
They contacted me straight away and it appears to be transport damage, they were very understanding. All is good with the world.
I will definitely be purchasing more awesome games from Queens. I'm so happy they are putting out such great games. I already have a list of wants, I just need to save money.

Re: damaged inside box ..
After a few months I've resigned myself to ... Maybe things take a little longer to get over here................. My one legged meeple remains on his one leg, and the box remains as it is. I collect games and try to keep my games in pristine condition, lol I keep inserts, everything... hehe definitely have to learn to not put so much value into my board games
But I finally managed to get it to the table last week, and the first comment from my friend was, "what happened to my meeple?". Eek, I totally forgot and had given him Vincent Van Meeple. It was surprising to see that it was a newly unplayed game. At least it looks like a well loved game.
I hope to get it out again for a 2nd playing.

Well that's kinda annoying but dive in! It's a fine game and may be one of the few fun euros.

Glad to see that they have improved this policy.
I had nearly the same damage with Shogun over 2 years ago and the representative at Queen Games indicated that they were unable to replace boxes or inserts due to shipping damage.

Lol, yes it's very thematic
Vincent Van meeple hehehe, and it's the Blue meeple heheh.
I think 99.9% of my games are American style games. This was my first real Euro style game purchase. Hopefully I'll have more luck with my next game. Stone Age & Agricola are on my radar as a next Euro purchase
Not sure if they've changed the policy, but my meeple still hasn't been replaced and there's no contact from the company. I did receive 2 emails at the beginning, but nothing after that. This experience has changed my feelings for the game, unfortunately.
