Several gaming friends & I are playing ATZ a couple of us learning the game...first scenario...we have a couple of questions to start with...The 2 survivors have moved on to the board & rolled for zombie placement. I've ended up with 5 zombies...the # on the zombie counters ranges from 1 to 6 but re direction...what is the point of reference to place them is it the distance from each survivor, wherever they are standing as there is no shot marker?
We used the survivors location & placed the zombies around ( the distance) from the 2 survivors. I rolled 2 dice. 1 for Tonya & 1 for Beck to see which survivor the Z's are close/headed towards as a 'selection' mechanic...Tonya ended up with a Zombie 1 hex away....Beck was luckier with zombies much further away.
Turn 2 Zombies win initiative... the 1 Zombie near Tonya moves into her hex...there seems to be no op firing for her or anyone it seems...(unlike other LNL games I'm used to) but she chooses her reaction being a Star survivor...just get my head into the sequences which require a fair amount of flicking back & forth thru the rule book but I'm loving this game & that surpasses everything! Thank u LnL!
Thanx

The point of reference is a hex side chosen by you. Say you call North #1. Then, #2 is the hex side tot eh right (east) of that, #3 is he hex side to the right of #2, #4 is opposite #1. Zombies are place 6 hexes away.
So you roll up one zombie for Tonya. You draw a zombie with a 4 for direction. You agree that north is direction #1. So, you place the zombie six hexes south of Tonya.
When a zombie moves into Tonya's hex, she must make a Being Charge Reaction. Because she is a Star, she can choose from the reactions available. She must choose a reaction that fits here condition, like being in a building. She must perform the full reaction. She could very well shoot at the zombie (a form of Opportunity Fire that takes place in here hex).

Thanks ZombieMark! Yes we use the hex/'clock' mechanic for firing arty in L'nL games it's just the rules seem scattered...reading & rereading...but I am slow taking in rules antyways...so I'll plod on and checkout postings here.
Many thanks for the reply. I'm determined on this game as it gives an excellent game experience
