My husband brought this back from the US when he was there on a work trip, and we immediately tried it with the kids.

Fun Components

The bits for this are great. The sliding pawns are very tactile, and they also love the little pawns used for scoring.

Simplicity of rules

Both kids picked up the rules to this very quickly - the only minor confusion is occasionally when scoring, remembering to only move each pawn once, and which pawns they've already moved.

Randomness

I can imagine an adult who is well-practiced at this would always beat a child, but as we haven't played it except with the children we have no more experience than them, and I'm not great at dexterity games of this sort anyway, so the children stand as much chance of winning as I do! With time I can imagine that the better players will win a higher percentage, but in this case that won't be me, so the kids might even have the advantage.

Did the children enjoy it?

We played it, and they asked to play again immediately, and the next day, and the day after! They also introduced it to my sister when she came over.

And how is it from the adult's point of view?

I really enjoy this, although I'm terrible at it, so was very glad my husband picked it up for me, and even more glad that my children can play it with me. It's a little different from their usual fare too, so it's nice to add the variety to their games collection.
