Well, it doesn't sound like the best thing to do at least.
Two scenarios:
you have a sort of grapes that your opponent has as well: why would you want to raise the praise only that he/she will profit and sell at a higher price
you are the only one who owns a sort of grape. the other player should never allow you to spend all your actions on raising the price, but end the round instead.

As soon as one player's income is ahead of the other's, they're incented to harvest and end the round.

In particular, if you have fewer vines of grapes that take longer to mature, you should end the round quickly! Why late let the other player harvest and drive up the price of their cheap grapes?
The tactic of ending the seasons early is the most overlooked aspect of the game by new players. It is really critical.
