If a unit has two or three different cards for a cavalry unit played in one combat, and each allows a pursuit roll in the event of a retreat. how many pursuit attempts do you get?

One roll for each card.

So if the first card doesn't succeed you get to try again? Good, because that was how we played it. I'm glad we were right, though not happy with the result (I escaped the first pursuit roll, but the second one sliced me to ribbons and I ended up losing my biggest unit).

Hmm interesting. Yes, but if you pursuit a retreat unit with 2 pursuits, then if you make a hit to the retreat unit, then you roll again for the 2nd card to eliminate it?

Not quite, you get to roll them all. One is not dependent on the other. We just roll as many d6s as we have cards all at once.

Thx. So, if the defender unit retreat and has not accepted a hit yet, then it's impossible to be eliminated. The attacker simple has more possibilities to hit it. If he has 2 pursuit cards from the advanced cavalry, for example 1-2 & 1-3 and he rolls together with 2 dices: 2&2, he does only 1 hit to the enemy unit, no 2 for elimination. Right?

Still incorrect. Each hit is a hit. If you hit twice, a full strength unit is gone. That's why choosing to retreat when there are multiple cavalry cards is dangerous. They'll run you down!
