Since it is my forte' to ask very simple questions about misunderstood core game mechanics, i will keep to that singular devotion. This concerns the definition of a "card effect." For example, the Moon Cursed Lycanthrope has the disrupt ability that starts "Before an effect resolves, pay 1 and sacrifice Moon-Cursed Lycanthrope..."
Is an "effect" considered anything that a card can do, be it an action, a disrupt, a response, a story card effect, an ability (like a spell), the bonuses added from an attachment or a location, or even an ability that is described in the card's text box? the more i think about what a possible "effect" could be, the more it seems like it could be almost anything.
I can't find a definition or a classification of what is considered an effect in any of the rules. Perhaps i am over-thinking this. i would guess since an effect is either something that is chosen to happen or s conditional, it's a timing question and maybe an ability in a text box wouldn't be eligible?
Thanks for any help, please be kind, i haven't played this game in a few years and i kind of forgot...

And you won't. Which is why I created this page: http://www.chris-long.com/cthulhu/cthulhuGlossary.cfm

Nope, those abilities are eligible as well.

And more than that actually. You're describing "card effects" but since it doesn't specify, you can include game effects in that as well.

wow thanks for replying Chris!!! i actually met you once at a convention and you were super friendly and helpful with my questions.
I still absolutely love this game and am just starting to get some new people into it. so thanks for supporting my question here at the geek, i'm sure i'll have more.
i checked your link and it's very informative. especially since "game effects" also count, this makes cards like The Moon-Cursed Lycanthrope and The Construction Crew MUCH more powerful. thanks mucho!
