Has anybody came up with a two player variant for this game? I picked up the other game by this designer,{Cambria}, and it's got a very good two player variant included in the rules. I would be interested to know if anybody has tried this 2 player.

I play it mostly as a 2-player game. I leave the rules without changes. Not sure how the game suffers from that, but I usually like the experience.

There have been a lot of requests for a 2 player variant for Hibernia, so I have been working on one ever since Gencon. Happy to say it is finished, and that I just posted in on BGG. The new rules are somewhat different than what Yegor proposed, partly inspired by the 2 player variant of Uptown, which I have always liked. I think it is actually more interesting than the 2 player variant of Cambria. Yegor, if you get a chance give these 2 player rules a try and let me know how you like them.

Eric, I will surely try it, once I find it (probably, it hasn't been approved yet). I like Hibernia, though I seldom win Another thing we added to the game is the color stones to keep track of the provinces we have.

As for the Cambria 2 player rules, actually, we play without the dummy player (though the idea of being ashamed, if the dummy player wins, rocks!).
