The new rules are somewhat different than what Yegor proposed, partly inspired by the 2 player variant of Uptown, which I have always liked. I think it is actually more interesting than the 2 player variant of Cambria. Yegor, if you get a chance give these 2 player rules a try and let me know how you like them.
Eric, I will surely try it, once I find it (probably, it hasn't been approved yet). I like Hibernia, though I seldom win 
Another thing we added to the game is the color stones to keep track of the provinces we have.
As for the Cambria 2 player rules, actually, we play without the dummy player (though the idea of being ashamed, if the dummy player wins, rocks!).
