The Coat of Arms of Clan Montgomery - Scotland. Yes, that's a woman with the head of a savage in her hand, and an anchor. No clue what it means, but it's cool.

Anyone know where to get game pieces, like stand-up flags, little plastic forts, etc.? My BGG.Con friend:

thought it would be fun to pimp this game out, and I agree with him . . . so where should I go to buy this stuff?

Make sure to post back here with pictures if you get this done. Sounds like a good project.

Try some of the very small scale figure manufacturers, 6mm say, they might have some useful stuff.

Replace the control marker counters with transparent tiddly winks/bingo chips in Orange and Blue colours.
I supplemented the supplied dice with ones that had a renaissance aged look, it did not help my die rolling luck, but they looked in character with the game.
enjoy the game, she's a cracker

I think the only time I would want those transparent tiddlywinks would be for PBEM/Vassal. Not so easy to just pick the flat stones up to look underneath when you're on your PC.

Right - but I was thinking about some forts and flags, too. The bingo chips are FUNCTIONAL. I'm talking about a straight PIMP to make the game look PIMP!
:-)
I have the bingo chips. I found some old 1990s tiny pewter castles that I might pick up - just a couple bucks each. I'd only need them for the supply forts.
Some tiny orange and blue flags would be nice - maybe I could make those to put in the supply fort depending on who controls it.
I thought about the idea of small miniatures for the leaders, but I think that would be (a) too difficult to find minis that looked correct and would fit on the board, (b) too time consuming, and (c) too hard to make the leader's stats obvious. But a FLAG for MAJOR ARMIES might be nice.
