There's nothing that beats the winter "blahs" like excellent gaming, and Game Summit will be coming to the rescue once more on the weekend of February 17, 18 and 19th, 2012 at Nepean Sportsplex in Ottawa with more space this year!

This event - our sixth - We're hoping to break over 1000, we're working on bring more of everything you've come to love about Game Summit: More prizes, more tournaments, more events, more freebies, and way more fun. Those of you who have been to Game Summit in the past will know that we offer a wide range of constant activities and things to do:
* In our Pavilion, we have never-ending board games, card games and other family-friendly fun from morning till evening; * our Arena pits sci-fi and fantasy armies one against the other on giant, custom-made battlefields; * our Den is home to RPGs and collectable card games of all sorts, with experienced game masters on the ready; * our Workshop is a great place for both vets and novices to pick up a paint brush and learn about painting up game miniatures for fun.
If there's anything you'd like to see happening at Game Summit, NOW is the time to tell us, you can also ask questions and post comments on this thread!
Last, but not least: If you have games, miniatures or toys you want to get rid of, bring them to Sunday's Garage Sale and let hundreds of other gamers get a look at what you have to offer… or pick up a few treasures of your own for low prices.

Hey I'm a registered massage therapist and a board game geek, would you like to have some massage therapy offered at the summit? I could bring some massage chairs and invite some other therapists.
I am sooo excited about this! I've heard only great things about this convention and am sure I'm going to love it. I'm a little sad that the shuttle bus would mean missing out on Friday's gaming but I realize that not everyone would be able to take Friday off.
I just realised this is happening the weekend of Family Day. Good news for most people (especially bus travellers) as it's a day of rest after a good weekend of board gaming. For many of us at Toys on Fire, Game Summit will only be an excellent warm-up to some board game/bacon/"other"-fuelled mayhem. I hear we have a deep-fryer this year. I hope I'm alive on Tuesday.
In all seriousness, if you were on the fence about coming to Game Summit (due to travelling long distances, being exhausted, etc.) I'd saying knowing that the majority of us have the Monday off is a pretty good reason to come.
Are there any plans for a no-ship math trade for Game Summit? I know the last math trade in Ottawa was only a few months ago, but seeing as how this is just after Christmas and will probably attract a fair number of out-of-towners, it seems like a good opportunity. Thoughts? Interest?

For those looking for cheap free accommodations, I have lots of room at my place, fairly close to the venue (Baseline/Clyde). My roommate is moving out end of Jan and I won't have another til March. So I have room for 4 comfortably. Is there another forum for this sort of thing?
