I was captured by this pic I want in now. I own Axis & Allies and have never gotten it to the table. Should I play that before trying AAM? What are we looking at to get going in AAM? I snatched up about $200 of MonPoc trying to get a playable set of armies and that crap just sits there. I'd like to have an idea of the playability of any starter sets available.
Thanks guys,

A&A is not A&A:Minis. Totally different. A&A is a boardgame for 5 players and five hours. A&A:Minis is a miniatures game with boardgame elements that's designed for 2 players in under one hour (depending on the size of the battle). If you like WWII simple strategy, miniature tactics, with some army building elements, you might like the minis game. The basic rules are much easier than MonPoc and the game plays fairly quick. I never got into MonPoc but love AA:M. The newer sets are slightly larger in scale (15mm) to match the same size as FoW minis. Get a starter and a few boosters for cheap and you'll have enought to square off an Allies and Axis army. Specialize later if you really like the game.
