Hi guys,
When you place the Black Master Builder, do you also place your colour pawn on the Master Builder Track?

We had this happen:
First pull - Black Master Builder (white player places on board)
Second pull - Green pawn plays
Third pull - White pawn plays

On the Master Builder Track - should the 5th spot be White or Green?

Thanks so much. Love this game.

Page 2 spells it out this way:

Token sits on 7. Black Builder is pulled. White places it onto the board for free. Token does NOT move.

Green builder is pulled. Green places it for 7 gold. Token moves to 6.

White is pulled. White either replaces the black builder (paying 6), or passes, removes the black builder, and places the white builder on the 6 space. Token then moves down to 5

I hope that helps!

Hi Alex,

Yes we did that, but I'm asking about the Master Builder Track (used in 5/6 player games), which your 3rd pawn is saved for.

Example: If you placed the black master builder first, would you also place your colour pawn on the Master Builder Track last?

Thanks.

We do not place a player's 3rd Master builder on the stained glass track until the first actual player color piece is put on the board. I can see playing it either way though.

Adam has it. You don't place on the Master Builder Track until you place one of your own master builders on the board - the black pawn doesn't trigger a Master Builder Track placement.

Crazy, that makes the William Hamleigh: Black Master Builder that much more powerful. Not only do you get to block a spot and get it cheaper, you also get to place your pawn later in the Builder Track. That's a must get power in a 4/5 player game imho.

Thanks guys.

Maybe. Powerful, but luck-dependent.

1) Obviously less game-changing if he comes out in a late turn. William Hamleigh on turn 5 or 6? I'll pass. Turn 3 or 4 even, depending on what other opportunities are out there.

2) The odds of his coming out early in the master builder draw are small. And if he comes out later he's not so useful. Compare that with other privileges where you have a guaranteed benefit every turn.
