Not sure if it's been mentioned but there's a fairly successful pbem site missing: www.littlegolem.net

Good poll, although I had trouble with the question about % of games owned and not played. I have played every boardagame and RPG that I own, but only half of my videogames, so I think maybe splitting this question in three categories could be better.

The problem (or better said, my problem) with videogames is that they get out of print (try finding a 1-2 years old computer game in any shop) quite fast so if you want it you have to buy right now. Steam is solving this I know but is not the same...

Suggested in the analysis geeklist:

Poll
If you buy online rather than from a local game store is that because (select all that apply):
You do not have a game store in your area
Price of games
Unavailability of the games you want in a LGS

All of the above. The only "local" game stores would be a couple chain office and school supply stores, and they don't carry much. They used to carry a couple good euros a couple years ago, but they priced very high (I remember seeing Puerto Rico at around $100).

So pretty much all three of them for me. cry

I did wonder about splitting the poll by US and Rest of the World. Or maybe by continent. So lets try that too....

Now again, but just select all that apply for you, but just answer in the row for your continent/country/area

And, if you've looked at the poll results, virtually no BGG users in them.

I split them because the UK has a large number of BGG users (2nd largest group after the US) so seemed to merit a separate entry in the poll - also as our (UK) LGS situation is just so crappy, while a number of mainland Europe countries actually have decent LGSs around.

I'm not making any political statement. The current right-wing part of the UK coalition government has actually played a lot on distancing the UK from Europe. I'm not a part of that....!
