1. I assume, based on the errata, that the Germans get 1 action card during their op phase, right?
2. The special rules section states that the SS and Panzer IV adavnce and initiate combat against US units in front of them. Does this mean that these units can do 2 actions, move and fire, on a turn or does it mean they play by the standard rules - move adjacent in one turn, then must wait to fire on next turn (except, of course, return fire if attacked)?

2. They can only move or fire not both. The only units that can move AND fire are the units that have this ability listed. The special rules are telling you that these units move every turn, but if there is a US unit directly in front of them they initiate combat INSTEAD of moving.
