While I'm obviously looking forward to a lot of boardgaming, I also have a hankering for some roleplaying.

I'm going to run a one-shot horror game session on Friday night. I have a great scenario for 6-8 players -- no previous RPG experience is necessary.

I've posted more details in another thread over here. Let me know if you're interested!

Registrations are at an all time high with us still being over a month out, but we can use MORE! We've got a couple of basic flyers people can print out, and post at bookstores, college campuses, game stores, coffee shops, or other bulletin boards. Obviously the closer you are to St. Louis, the more effective these will be, but feel free to post them anywhere.

http://geekway2west.com/GeekwayStreetTeam.html

Send us a picture of the flyer posted somewhere and we'll post it on the street team page! You can send pictures to marshall@geekway2west.com

BIG NEWS!

We've officially bought up the rest of the hotel space for this year's Geekway. What does that mean? It means that we have doubled our gaming space. That's right.. doubled. We handled 360+ last year and were comfortable, but nearly at the breaking point. Now, we can handle ~700 with no problem at all. Our registrations are way up over last year at this time, and we really needed this space. Want to set up those big games? We have room. Want to be in the quieter room away from announcements? Now you can. This also allows us to leave the library space to all of our various events, as we'll have enough room for people to spread out.

So, you could register at the door and pay $40, or you can register right now for $35 and save that $5 towards buying a great new game you discover at the con. Yeah, I thought so: http://www.geekway2west.com/GeekwayRegister.html

The publishers and stores who are sponsoring us keep growing and growing. Here's an ongoing list: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/733890/geekway-2012-sponsors

Are you a budding game designer? We're having a game design contest this year: http://www.geekway2west.com/GeekwayGameDesignContest.html

Last but not least, we're going to be showing Going Cardboard in the library on Friday night. I've watched it, it's good. Details about the movie are here: http://www.boardgamemovie.com/

Follow us on Twitter @Geekway, and please send any questions you might have to geekwaytothewest@gmail.com

See you there!

Last year, Thursday morning was nice and quiet, plenty of room, easy access to pretty much any game you wanted to play if you had players. Thursday evening picked up a little, but it was still nice and roomy.

Friday afternoon things started picking up, and Friday night/all day Saturday were hopping.

So I'd say you won't be sitting around bored on Thursday waiting on people to show up. And if you are, then the organizers will be bored too, and we can set up a game near registration

I'm coming from Houston. I sure wouldn't mind having some trades lined up where the actual no-shipping exchange would happen at GEEKWAY.

Should I start a seperate thread for those that would like other attendees to check out their Wish List?

is this the only forum anywhere for those 400+ attendees to chat with each other? Not much action for that...

I just updated the Play and Win geeklist with a ton of games. This will (more or less) be the final list. I have a few more to add, and will do that later tonight.

Jay, if we get a chance to sit down and play together again this year, I consider that winning the Geekway

Posted this on the guild also

I just saw that it's to late to get the con rate, so I'd wanted to see if someone was going that wanted to split the costs of the room Thurs, Fri, Sat night.

I could bring an air mattress as I'm driving from Topeka, KS.

If not I'll just stay at the Motel 6 down the road, which it says is a 14 min drive away, but 1/3 of the full rate price.
