I am unclear exactly how the Statue is used.

1. Why are their 4 circles on the statue building?
2. Does that mean it costs 4 hourglasses to use it?
3. Does that mean up to 4 priests can use the statue at the same time?
4. Can Hallucinations, or any other spell etc., effect the statue?
