I just picked up a lot of 4 games off of ebay (very excited by the way). One of which was an original edition of Axis & Allies.

My question is this, I already have one. The one I just received is in much better overall condition, primarily the box.

What would everyone recommend on doing with the predecessor (which I have had since I was a kid). Really the only thing wrong with it is the box (which is pretty much destroyed, at least the top portion). Should I sell it as a whole? Part it out? Just curious what would allow me to get the most bang for my buck to add additional games to my collection. I am more of a player than a collector if that adds anything to the discussion.

Thanks!

SEND the 'bits' to 'moi' and "gift" the board to somebody that I have in mind for this. IN RETURN, then I'll remit what I 'create' for those as some or ANY 'means' with teaching their BASICS through such, in order to AVOID boring & losing interests due to two too much "ongoing", as I've encountered that enough already.

While 'moi' YAM wat I YAM & EVEN "so serious"! I can take portions from those and then MAKE an 'advanced' assortment for the 'bits' of which they can later USE as additions within the entire 'series'.

markgravitygood,
Give this person a-break.
The individual has posted many times before, and its obvious that English is a second language.
No need to make fun of the situation. Be nice !

Grogs' english is just fine, as he demonstrates on rare occasions.

It's his funny bone that comes in a weird shape and colour.

Perhaps I should rephrase - What is the collectible status of a severely damaged box versus the parts (original edition instead). Not opposed to giving it away, just not my first choice.

blush oh, well, then, in YOUR 'case', the 'collectible'-status is around near, or closest with: "UN"; even, "NON", as who doesn't HAVE at least one of these of their OWN?

I guess that answers it. I wasn't sure how many copies of the original version were floating around, and if anybody collected that version to the extant that it would be valuable. I know that it has been reprinted in several new versions.

It's great for parts. The control markers are useful for many different games Tanks and soldiers make great 'stand ins if you are missing a tank or two for another game - say like A&A minis. There's a very cool print and play that I use them for also.

Eastern Front 2

Just to name a few.

There you "go" then, with mounting this 'map' upon the GOOD remnant of your 'box' it would fit 'onto' for anything else! cool
