Hi, after few games of COPE there are still a few niggling issues that I would like a clarification for please.
These are.
1) Can "Remains in Play" event cards be cancelled while they are in play with a "I don't think so..." card?
2) Are Resistance Tokens affected by "Atomic Bombs"?
3) Are the abilities of Locations with a Destroyed marker considered blank?
4) Can the Fome Mages Guild use their 2nd Power to spend 3 Alien Menace Tokens to invoke a "Crushing Victory" after the dice have been rolled?
5) Can "Oops...Ray Gun Set to Stun" be used to enforce a tie after the Fome Mages Guild have used 3 Alien Menace tokens to Invoke a Crushing Victory?
6) Does "Freedom Fighers" also count Saucers that are in the central Landing Area of a Board Section? This also applies to any effect that will destroy saucers in an adjacent location (i.e.) barrage, does it affect the central landing zone if it is adjacent.
7) "Unexpected Chemical Reaction" states "Play to reduce a single Aliens strength to zero until the end of the round" Is this just one Saucer or all the Saucers of that Alien Race (i.e. player)?
8)When paratroopers are drawn in combat and a resistance token is placed on the board if it is placed into an area with a conquest token in, does the conquest token get removed? since the area is now occupied by resistance again.
9) When you find a wilderness location do you place a conquest token onto it? I ask as this as if the answer is yes, then the Vyborian Arbiters have it quite easy as they can demolish 0 point locations to gain 1 Terror point. which seems a bit too powerful.
10)Can "Captain Fantastic" be the subject of Mind Control?
Thanks Andy.

i'll do my best from memory, I don't have the rules at hand to check it out... This is also our interpretation, and by no means "official"...
1 - Yes. In other FFG games, "Cancel" has been "officialy" determined to remove cards already in play, so there's no reason to believe it is meant to be different here. 2- Don't think so, but i'd need to check the rules to be sure... 3- Yes. 4,5- Not sure, card not at hand... 6- Sure, can't really imagine why it wouldn't 7- Again, I don't have the card here, but must cards that don't affect CF are quite explicit about it. 8- Well, I believe this is a rules quirk. In the cooperative game, there is a specific phase for removing conquest tokens that is absent from the competitive game. I'm not sure if it is intended or not, but as it stands, conquest tokens don't seem to be removed in those conditions in the competitive game. 9-I don't think so, because you only place a conquest token after combat IIRC.
I hope this helps somehow. I'm sorry I couldn't be more precise, just typing from memory

Thanks, those answers do make a fair bit of sense, especially after playing some LNoE as the rules for that are quite flexible.
So unless an FAQ comes out to say no this is how it is meant ot be
point 4 is an OK play as would be 5
7) I think looking at the card, UCR would just affect one saucer of the target player.
8) I think this will be tried the next time I play CoPE, so new resistance tokens remove the conquest token from the area.
Cheers.
