Are you allowed to announce what role you have picked, and your choices, thereby almost assuredly informing people of the person's before you choice?

Although I see nothing in the rules to specifically prevent this, I would assume that this is at the least against the spirit of the game, and I would prefer it if someone could find something specific.

No, you announce at the time your role is called.
