As mentioned in my other Introduction post, I just learned this interesting game today. Both sessions were very enjoyable, but they (especially the 5-player game) seemingly ended too quickly, and it just felt like we didn't quite have enough turns (e.g., the North side of the board mostly went untouched, and play seemed to gravitate to one side of the board or the other).

Is the game ending too soon an issue that other players have faced? And if so, is this mainly due to keeping the playing time within a certain limit, or does experience show that additional Rounds cause the game to break down?

As it stands, a player takes his last turn and then his 4 other cards go discarded (unused). It would appear to be very easy to extend the game another Round (or two), with the players simply using the cards in their hands, which could result in some interesting planning and use situations.

The dangers of being taught the game instead of having it - that is indeed an optional rule entitled More Destruction which has players going for 2 rounds after the final Fire Intensifies action to end the game with 3 cards in hand.

Ah, that's good to know Richard (thank you) - I should have the game in hand by the end of the week.

Remember the time of year Steve. B&B normally (ie cheapest shipping) takes about 5 days to get to the US West Coast and I believe with the crush of holiday orders, they might need an extra day or two before your order is shipped out. So while I hope you do get the game by the end of the week - it might slip into next week also.

B&B sent me an email this morning that the game has shipped, and included a Tracking Number too.

That was fast... now when it actually gets here may be another story.

I recently ordered this from B&B and it arrived fairly quickly. I am on the opposite coast from you though, so your mileage may vary.

I love this game... just wish they hadn't painted those houses red. I'm still debating if I should try to paint them orange or just buy some orange houses.
If your not careful the person with the orange card won't realize their houses are actually red until they are a ways into the game. I wouldn't worry about it otherwise.
