Hi all,

I just got the expansion and the base game a few days ago. Great game, I have to say!

Now, we played the base game 3 times, and I am not sure if I should already add the expansion. How do you integrate it?

- shuffle all in (room cards, items ...); but then: why is there this change in the market? should I throw away the old market card?
- separate it for thematic reasons, and sometimes play this, sometimes that?

I am a little bit confused about what would be best...

We just shuffle it all together, and draw a random Merchant when setting up the game.

Not sure that random merchant is good idea. New one is designed to work with more items. If you draw old merchant you may got 6 items with no one fitting any of your characters.

We treat the old merchant like it was in the base game, smaller selection with discounts. New merchant has larger selection but no discounts. This has worked well.

Thanks for you input!

One other question: Would you say that the difficulty is increased by the expansion? So far, in our 3 games, the heroes always made it to the final chamber, but failed to succeed there.

Usually, that's because the heroes spent too much money at the merchant and couldn't heal fully. At least, that's how it goes in the games I've played.

Hi all,

I really find that Soloth make the games more difficult for the heroes; they get to the final room, but without real options to win.

In our next game, we will try one of these:

a) Eliminate one room

b) Use the merchant of the basic game, but eliminating all the cards that doesn't fit the characters.

What do you think?
