If you are looking for a particular Japanese game e.g. String Railway, just GM me. I might be able to help you track down a copy :) & we can do a trade.

I'm not sure if there's something in my eye or something as I'm finding it a bit hard to understand the instructions on how the art director fills out the back of the sheet.

We tried playing a game of this, and the scoring put a damper in the game

So if I'm the art director, and I give the art directions. After everyone's scored, I write their scores in the top section then I write their scores in the bottom section as an overall game tally?

But then when the art director changes again, he uses the same sheet? but then he can't need to write in the top section again, as it's already filled in from the previous Art Director.
Or he takes a new sheet of paper, and writes on the back of that? then it's wasting another page.

Lol, I think I've confused myself.
Help me obi one

I really want to get this game out again, as I just bought all the expansions

As I recall, players score for themselves on their art sheet. If ANY person checks number 1, for example, then you as art director get a point for #1 (on my sheets, I think it's at the very bottom). So you should have 2 places to score YOUR drawings and one place to draw your DIRECTING. Is that now how it looks anymore?

if i remember correctly, the back of the sheet is divided into two sections. the top section is used to score for the director of each round. it has one line per director and one checkbox for each of the criteria. the bottom section holds the scores for each player, one column per round, with a final column for the total.

the same sheet is used for multiple directors. at the end of the round, the director marks the appropriate checkboxes in the top section and transfers the total to the appropriate column in their row of the bottom section. when the sheet is passed to the next director, that director uses a new line in the top section to track the score for the round.

Thanks Thomas

(The edition I have has the checkboxes at the top section.)

Got it, so the art director checks ONLY 1 row at the top section for that round.
Then on the bottom section he writes his art score, AND everyone elses score for that round in a Column.
(We were checking everyone's score for one round at the top. Then we were duplicating the answers down the bottom. Then we were like...we're just duplicating the paperwork. Then everyone just decided to keep their own score.)

cool thanks for clarifying that The example in the rules book is a bit confusing, I totally missed the red scores (lol, maybe I can't see red), I should have looked at the red numbers going diagonal.

sounds like you've got it now.

once you get the kinks worked out, it flows pretty smoothly. give it another go and i'm sure your group will enjoy it.
