All fled—all done, so lift me on the pyre—the Feast is over, and the lamps expire.

I am with geek extraordinaire, Wil Wheaton, believing strongly that "one can never have too many dice!".

I have a reasonably sized collection, housed in a glass jar:

I recently acquired some of the Game Science precision dice that are currently being distributed by Chessex. I love these dice! So much so that I want to show some other geeks how good they are too!

So here's the deal - I'm going to get three sets of Game Science dice as prizes for this little competition. I'll ship them anywhere in the world for free. What you have to do is guess how many dice are in my jar. That's it, no thumbs/geek gold necessary.

The three closest guesses will each get a full set of seven dice and I will let you choose the colour/style of the set as well (providing they are in stock).

Please note - only one guess per person will be counted. If you put in multiple guesses, I'll take the last one posted.

Closing date will be 1st January 2012, so get guessing now!

meeple Much love to all! meeple

WINNERS

Ok, so the total number of dice in my jar was 187.

with guesses of 186, 186.5 and 188 respectively. While technically 186.5 would be closer than either of the other answers, I've never seen half a die before. So I left it up to random.org to thin it down to two other winners...

So congratulations are in order for:

I just want to say, God, on behalf of all of us thank you for all of the good things we do in your name, like charity and forgiveness. That’s an idea we would never come up with. That’s for sure. You know that better than anybody.

94 dice are in the container of which I am guessing on in this contest where my previous attempt was too short to qualify as a post.

That way when we play a game he will be rolling precise dice and I can roll my loaded ones...

But seriously, he is bringing me back into miniatures gaming so he can get my winnings
