It seems to me that the one weakness in this game is the die. Auctioning off one card this round and six next time is a very unbalanced experience, and doesn't help the money-management aspect of the game at all.

I can understand WHY the designer wanted it to be random, but I can't help feeling that an 'average' d6 numbered 2,3,3,4,4,5 would work better.

Any agreement?

Indeed this is more in thoughts of a good players game. It could works well also with rolling 2 dice and substract the numbers from them. If the dice shows equal numbers, then you can choose the amount of auctionated cards from 1 to 5. In that case, you draw one card after another and decide after every card to stop the drawing.

I am not an experienced player, but I don't see the problem.

Anyway, 2d3?
