A----B

1: planets A and B are connected by z-axis nav. route. Major end is in planet A and minor in planet B. Am i able to build a transport, when I have a base in planet B?

2:ghosts lockdown says: science vessel looses its ground attack cababilities. one of science vessels tec cards says: +2 attack and ground/fly splash. I think that the effect of that tec card is then prevented. how about splash? Is it prevented too? Am i right??

1: definitely yes; Z-axis connection is the same as a "normal" connection tile. It doesn't matter from which side of the route you come.

The only difference between the two is so you put all transports in the big end. If both were the same, then you'd put them in any of them, and you might be surprised to find your opponent has a transport you didn't see. With the big and small ones you know that if it's the small end, look in the other one (and even use the suggested "turn it around" method to signal that there are transports), and if you're looking at the big one that's all transports there are in that link.
