Wits & Wagers is a strange game for me. I'm sure I'm going to love it, and have been since it was released more than 6 years ago. Yet, I hadn't purchased it because I live in Colombia, and most of the people I play games with don't speak English.
But on this Christmas, I decided to take the plunge and give this as a gift to... myself. I realized I can be the question reader, so there's no need for others to be able to understand English. True, the questions having answers in feet, miles and other weird non-metric units (yeah, guys... you're the odd ones) can have some trouble, but I'm going to try it out anyway. Maybe I can even manage to slip a play of this one at Christmas Eve!
And if I get much trouble for the units, I can always recalculate everything in meters, kilograms and other "normal" units...
Wish me luck!

Woot! Good luck with it. Turn it into a hot new trend and we'll come out with a South American edition.

I'd call us charmingly eccentric.
Using unfamiliar measurements might even add to the game, creating more guesses that once compared to the others are obviously way out of touch.
Have fun.

Sure! We can make a large gathering for this one...
For now, I'm going to try to push it on Christmas Eve dinner, which is at my home this year... perhaps I can "casually" mention we "could" try it out!
It's still shrink-wrapped, and as I told my wife and my little son to wait for their presents, I guess they're also going to make me wait to open this one.

I couldn't pull it out on Christmas.

Enter New Year!!!
We played 2 games of this with my wife, my dad and my best friend, just after we could tuck my little son into his bed (quite late... he was very sleepy, but didn't want to miss New Year's eve).
And they all loved it. In fact, my wife loved it so much, she asked me to take it to her sister's next day (well, technically, it was the same day because we ended up playing it for the first time as January 1st was beginning), and we all had a great time again.
What a great game. Thanks for designing this gem, Dominic.
