I have recently been quite stunned by the total lack of information, marketing or hype over the entirely new rules and totally new air combat starter set Axis and Allies "Angels 20".

Pre painted world war 2 aircraft, in 1/100th scale (4 inch wingspan) made from a new more rigid plastic in a "Battle of Britain" themed starter of 6 planes... coming in the next month or so... and not a squeak of marketing?

They need to pay the monkey's running wizards more banana's cause thats just nuts!

Some details wizards!

I should NOT have to work this hard to give you my money!

I know, right?

I'd heard at one point that the starter was going to come with all the cards for the Angels 20 planes, and that booster boxes would just come with the plane (ie, no card). I'd also heard that the starter would also come with all the cards to allow you to play the planes in A&A miniatures, the land version of this series. I hope they keep these plans, as that would be a big draw to get me to buy in.

But who am I kidding? The planes look so darn cool. I'm in either way.

Hmm.

I love getting angry at the internet as much as anyone, but look what I found:

A rather meager first entry with little interesting information

Some information on a few of the planes in Angels 20

Some information on movement, and a few more planes

Doh.

I take it the OP has little experience dealing with Wizard's other mini lines (or at least the other AAM lines)...

It's years before set lists are posted for sets that are already released!

Edit: the OP is right, insofar as Wizards' marketing of the AAM line has been, by-and-large, non-existant. And thanks to the prior poster for the links roundup.

Found this on another site where some chap has a copy of the starter for sale:

Rules
Counter/Tokens (unpunched)
6 miniatures (still in bag)
Stands for minis (still in bag)
2 aerial maps "board"
Dice (still in bag)
Full deck of stat cards for other planes in the series

He says it retails at $40.
