If a tile gets haunted and causes three villages to die and the top villager is a member of the xiang family, can I choose to kill one of the other two villagers on the tile that the xiang villager was on. Or cdo I have to choose villagers from another village tile?
Xiang family rules: if a xiang villager dies, the players must choose another villager to die as well.

Since ALL the villagers on the haunted tile are killed you must take the curse of EACH one. In the case of a Xiang family member, you would need (I believe) to choose yet ANOTHER villager on a different tile to die (and then take their curse as well).

Order for your case:
Xiang member will be placed to the graveyard
the villager under Xiang will placed faced-up
now you choose one of the face-up placed villagers, which will die (the second villager from the pile with Xiang, too)
