Did anyone try to play Pandemic on your own? Being alone at home tonight I tried. Since in the other variants (with 2-4 players) there are a total of 8-9 cards at hand, I gave myself 8 cards. I played at the beginners level with 4 epidemic cards, but still felt that it was an easy win compared with 2-3 players that I tried before. It took no long time finding the cures (since I got the scientist role I needed only 4 cards of the same colour, which made it even faster).

Any ideas of how to make it more fun?

Try playing with two hands, as if you're playing a two player game. Having only a single hand means that you don't have to worry about getting the right color cards into the right player's hand, which is a big part of the challenge of the game.

When I play solo, I play 4 characters, each with their own hand of cards.

I don't like controlling multiple pawns in a game, so my approach was to use just a single pawn.

I played a couple times with "Owl's rules", which I believe are posted in the variants forum here, and barely barely won.

I also played a few games using strictly the base game rules, with no variants at all (although I think I started with 5 cards in hand). I lost as the Ops Expert and Medic, but won all 3 games as the Scientist. That was all on the 4-epidemics level.

That's how I do it too although sometimes I only play 3 characters. I also choose them randomly, which can make it even harder depending upon who I don't draw.
