I'm astonished that this hasn't appeared on the thread already. Admittedly it could be considered a bit niche, even by SF geek standards, but I remember it fondly from 1988. I don't know if it got much, if any, exposure across the pond.

And if you're wondering who "The Timelords" were, they were actually KLF in a very thin disguise!

I still have my "Chill Out" CD by The KLF and still enjoy listening to it from time to time. Not as big a fan of The Orb as I used to be, but still like most of their stuff. Ditto for Orbital, Underworld, etc.

As far as obscure stuff goes here in the US, I've bought lots of synth music CDs from Synth Music Direct, Groove.NL, Eurock, and Ear-Rational over the last 16 years. Groups/artists like Air Sculpture, Radio Massacre International, Free System Projekt, Fanger & Schoenwaelder, Keller & Schoenwaelder, Broekhuis/Keller/& Schoenwaelder, Redshift, ARC, Arcane, Ashra, Dweller at the Threshold, Pete Namlook, to name a few. Among the more well-known artists: Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Johannes Schmoelling, Chris Franke, and the like. Musically, I'm definitely living on the wrong side of the Pond.

Okay, not a funny picture, but an awesome idea. This woman designed a scarf that features a repeating pattern of the TARDIS along it. I, for one, will have knit myself one of these by next winter. I hope she designs a follow up with a pattern of Daleks or K-9's.

I'd pay to see this.
Gene Hunt colliding with the Doctor, the Doctor and Sherlock Holmes playing off of each other, James Bond getting his new toys from Harry Potter, Gene Hunt and James Bond taking down bad guys left, right and center...
Yeah, I'd pay to see this.

From the BBC TV series "Life on Mars" and "Ashes to Ashes".

He's the toughest and meanest bastard in town. He's gonna beat you up for looking at him the wrong way. He'll swear a blue streak and insult you and your entire family. And he's the good guy.

Seriously, Gene Hunt rocks. Check out the shows. They're awesome!

Great idea, but:

Daniel Craig? Meh.yuk

The rest of the team is fantastic, though.

Philip Glenister is the actor. Gene Hunt is the charactor name on Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes...

Him and John Simm (Sam Tyler on Life on Mars) are both on "Mad Dogs" as well, along with Marc Warren (Tony Crane on Life on Mars) and Max Beesley. That is also a pretty good show.

And to find a connection back to Doctor Who: John Simm played the Master.
