Waiting for the expansion to come, we played the first module 'Preliminary "Free positioning" round'.

But we had a question regarding the first round. In the rulebook it says that we get 7 coins at the start and at the first round we don't receive any income.

What does that mean?

Preliminary round, I get 7. I bid 3, I get my God, I have 4 coins.

The first mythological creature appears. Do I get my income for this round?

Thank you

Normally, before bidding begins on gods for the first round, you get income. You don't anymore. At the start of the 2nd round, after everyone has taken the first god actions, you get income.

That just means that you don't receive additional income before the "positioning bidding" round. After the positioning and BEFORE the first REAL round you do get the normal income. Otherwise if you bid - say 6 on being first place - you would have 1 gold for the next round - allowing you to do NOTHING.

You can completely reimburse yourself, however, when bidding 6 and choosing 3 islands with 2 income. So that the first round you will have even more money.

Strike everything I said. It is in fact the case - if you bid, say 7 gold on ares during "positioning", you would have 0 gold in the first real round.

So if you played the "normal" rules you would start with 5 gold, have the income phase and get 7 gold and bid with those 7 gold in the first round.

The Hades rules say: start with 7 gold - bid and pay; have NO income phase and bid with whatever is left in the first round

I follow this however-Do you deal the gods out again after positioning is done? The book says when you are done you place your marker back on the track so it sounds like you would but I am not sure of this.
