Hello
One question, partly discussed on CSW forum during last november, but not seen final definitive answer...
Can we voluntary breakdown an antitank/pak unit and get a tank/panzer company from this process ?

The fact is this newly created company is able to move during mechanized mouvement, which seems strange as the parent bataillon was not able to do it....
And it would also give later on the CAM in combat, which is not the case for the parent Bn....

The chart "Breakdown & Replacement" shows a '-' for breakdown company, which means, in my mind, not authorized....

So my conclusion is : an AT/PAK cannot be breakdowned voluntary,, and if reduced by combat result, would need Armor REM to be resplenished.
Am I right ?

Thanks for your clarification !
Gilles

Gilles,

Yes, you can. Think of these as generic "equipment" steps.

However, in the expansion there will be type-specific breakdowns to include both mechanized and towed AT companies.

Thanks Dan

However I'm surprised, in view of the extra-mobility and power which is given in this case, which is not generic at all for PAK/AT units, in my mind....

Regards. Gilles

Is the split armor company considered part of the division or an attached unit?

Breakdown companies are always considered corps units, and must be attached.

It's a battalion level game so breakdown to a level lower has necessary limitations.
