Hi,
Does anyone know if this expansion works with the Rio Grande Edition (i.e. are the card backs/sizes different?)?

Card sizes and backs should be fine, but the cards are in German. If you use the English rules (and cards), you should be able to get by. The main difference to watch out for with using the RGG edition with the AMIGO and/or Lookout expansions is that the RGG edition moves the Wax Bean from 26 to 22, pushing out the Brandy Bean. This is irrelevant for most of the expansions, though. Check the Bohnanza series wiki for more information.
