Hi,

I am considering ordering this expansion and I am wondering if the playing experience is better than the 2 player version rules from the base game.

Thanks!

The two-player rules in the RGG edition of Bohnanza are adapted from the rules for Al Cabohne, but in the latter (a game for 1-2 players), you're (both) up against the bean mafia. I've never played the RGG 2p rules, but removing that risk of feeding too much to the mafia probably reduces the tension in the game. Also, Al Cabohne is enhanced quite a bit by the Prohibohn expansion. I give you all that background because, although I haven't yet played my copy of Bohn Camillo, the fact that it's designed specifically for two players should make it much more promising. All the other 2p-only expansions for and spin-offs of Bohnanza certainly have been nice. It also adds action cards to spice life up a bit.

If you weren't a twelve-hour drive from me, I'd suggest we get together and play it. Something tells me your money would better be spent on the gamble that you'll like this. Heh heh heh.

I'll let you know what I think once I play it, but unfortunately, that definitely isn't going to be in the next couple of weeks.
