Hi,
we have discovered that it's rather easy for the heroes to knock out Sauron's minions (for instance, the Serpent). An attack from one hero on the Serpent will probably fail, but the Serpent will be wounded. If two heroes cooperate and both attack (respective hero in each player turn), the Serpent is in big trouble. It won't have time to heal its wounds. Certainly, it's probable that the first attacking hero will loose, but was does it matter? He/she just goes to a Haven (with not so many bad consequences). The second attack, or the third attack, will most certainly eliminate the Serpent (for good) . If I haven't misunderstood the rules, Sauron has very small chances to avoid this.
Best regards

And while the heroes are wasting time on the minions, Sauron can be planning his plots, spreading influence, and other fiendish things.

more strategy talk
I stick to my advice, don't get caught focusing on interesting but non essential goals. If killing minions is your "mission", killing the Serpent makes sense but...
only if you dominate, otherwise your mission took you off your real mission.
The Mouth rarely survives in the games I have played but I can't say it make victory automatic for the heroes.
Heroes... relentless clearing of Sauron's plots, at least the good ones anyway. He can only play 1 per turn (without using shadow cards), that is a HUGE bottleneck.

This is true for all the minions. Most of them u need to tag team them while they're wounded. U should check out the variant i came up with that gives u more reward for fighting them and more penalty for dying. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
