Has anyone had an official answer on this question yet?

For claiming two regions with matching Region markers, the Empire card notation has an additional requirement listed that is not in the rulebook; that the two regions must be linked.

Which is the final official ruling?

Wondering if it was simply missed when writing the rulebook or a changed rule that was printed on the Empire Card in error.

I don't know the official answer, but we play that yes, they have to be linked.

I could swear that was in the rule book as well, I'd have to go back and read through it though to verify.
