So, engaging these pitiful Javelinmen...

1d6 = (3) = 31d6 = (1) = 1 1d6 = (2) = 2

Yup, they're dead.

Now the path is clear!

I advance my Chariot to the front and then I spend my last order to charge those pesky Legionaries!

1d6 = (5) = 5
1d6 = (1) = 1
1d6 = (4) = 4

Legionaries dead!

Since the chariot is overwhelming, now I charge those frightened Archers:
1d6 = (3) = 3
1d6 = (4) = 4
1d6 = (6) = 6

One hit!

I redeploy my Javelinmen 55 from centre front to left front.

Then I carry on the engagement with my Warbands.

1d6 = (4) = 4

I don't like it...

The Archers are at a loss to retaliate but they're doing quite a good job keeping your Warband busy...

I shall order my Ballista to fire upon your remaining Javelinmen, Front Centre.

1d6 = (3) = 3 1d6 = (3) = 3

No joy...

I redeploy my Noblemen from my left rear to the front.

Then I spend TWO order tokens on my Warbands to carry on the engagement.

1d6 = (1) = 1

Your archers are winning the battle for you, or better said my warbands are losing it. I made the wrong decision... and it could cost me the battle.

And, unfortunately, I don't see a way of making up the 18 points I need with my remaining orders.

So I shall be forced to concede.

In the end, Fortuna, the most changeable deity, abandoned the sons of Rome...

Well played.

My worst decision was to carry on the engament twice with the warbands. Perhaps I should have disengaged my chariot and then charge with it...

Your worst decision was to deploy some of your cataphracts on the rear. I costed you several order tokens (you spent one on the Imperator to issue two orders and one on the cataphracts to advance them). Anyway, you played it really good!

I've really enjoyed this battle! Really exciting. The only bad thing: a bit messy and time consuming to write all the actions here on the forum.

Thank you for playing and for taking photos!

Thank you for teaching me a thing or two about having some mobile small forces. I never would have thought of that without learning from a tactical force!

If only all battles ended in such a civil manner! We shall have to have a re-match at some point, but give me a day or two to recover.

You're very kind.

I'd love to play again. Unfortunately, I don't think I can spend lots of hours in a single game again... We'll see.

I think I've made up my mind. I could play lots of battles if I only post a few times a day. Battles will probably last about ten or even more days, but that's not a problem, is it?

If we ever play again, you won't have to take photos if you don't fancy. Nobody can play just with the pics (I would need a photo of each single turn). So I'll maintain the game on a table. I hope nobody will spoil my set... Anyway, it wouldn't be such a big problem, since I'll have a second copy of each set to play battles between armies of the same faction. cool
