How many scenarios are linked? What exactly can be bought from one scenario to the other (objects, exp points, units)? Is there any system o evaluate overall performace in a campaign?

Thanks guys!

I'm going off memory here, but I'll try to Confirmed with the rulebook soon & updated this.

The 6 scenarios can be linked for a campaign, or you can play them on a standalone basis.

You are awarded Glory Points during play for feats you accomplish, such as searching buildings, killing zombies, killing enemy survivors, and winning scenarios.

You can spend your Glory Points between scenarios to recruit other survivors to your group, acquire weapons & other supplies, or heal wounds.

The official victory conditions are: make it to the helicopter at the end of scenario 6 with someone special plus four survivors and you win.

It's been a long time since I played this game, but I never made it past the second scenario in solo play, so I can't comment on the campaign as a whole. My impression, after 6 plays of the first 2 scenarios, is that the scenarios provided with the game are designed primarily for stand alone play. One example is that scenario #4 requires you to fight certain characters as enemy survivors. The campaign rules allow you the opportunity to purchase the same survivors with Glory Points prior to scenario #4. This leads to an awkward moment when you have to establish a work around if you have those characters as allies in your party.

The game is enjoyable, and I'm glad I have it. I just wish the campaign was designed with more detail. The campaign just doesn't seem as developed as I had hoped, and that was one of the reasons I was most excited for this game. I'm sure other people out there have different opinions.

Thanks Ryan, appreciated.
Do you know of any game doing a better job in creating a whole story in the frame of a campaign? Ambush is one of them, but I don't like the fact of the scenarios being completely scripted and so not replayable at all.

One more comment regarding the campaign in All Things Zombie: TBG: When you read the scenarios as standalone plays, the story arc flows together well. It's just that when you play the scenarios as a campaign, you may encounter some situations that don't mesh seamlessly with the scenario descriptions and the choices you've made in the campaign.

As for a campaign with high replayability that creates a good story, I highly recommend Hornet Leader: Carrier Air Operations. It has excellent replayability that derives from a wide range of aircraft types, pilots with differing skills & abilities, scenarios (each with 3 length settings) that occur over 30 years (some aircraft are only available in certain time periods), a variety of targets, enemies, events & munitions that make each campaign different from the last. It has a strong RPG feel since your pilots gain experience and increase their skills as they participate in more missions. If you check my comments for HL:CAO on my profile, I wrote a fair bit about my impression of the game. It creates an excellent story, in my opinion.

But going back to ATZ:TBG, it is a good game and I think it has a lot of replayability and value, even if you only use the scenarios on a stand alone basis. The game system does create the opportunity for the same scenario to play out differently each time you play. The rules also support a "firefight" mode, in which players randomly select boards and use a set amount of points build & equip their own gang of survivors. Though I haven't used this method yet, it should add to the replayability of the game if you enjoy playing scenarios as stand alone experiences. One of my long term goals is to develop a campaign of my own, along with a few extra characters so I'll have the campaign I always wanted!

I've been working on additional story lines and side missions and will post them in the files section once completed.
