I know this question has probably come up a million times before, but now we have actually expansions announced for DT 2 Prison that will come with figures. That being said is it worth it to pick up any of the original dungeon twister expansions? Or should I just wait till the new expansions come out with figures?

I remember seeing it come up a couple of times. To the best of my knowledge they are working on it for some time, should be around the corner. If you don't mind mixing the stands with the minis the expansions are fully compatible.

I'm more concerned that I'd miss out on some cool maps or something from the older expansions or something that they won't add in the new expansions.

My guess is that the old rooms will not be reprinted. Also, I'd be surprised if all of the old characters and items are reprinted. My advice is to pick up any of the old expansions you can find, if you are interested in them.

Buy ALL the expansions!

No seriously.

Go find the link to the Australian E-bay listings for À Feu et À Sang and Terres de Glace.

I really feel like you won't regret picking up any of the old expansions.

If you enjoy the game and want tons of possible setups, get them. Get as many as you can

I can get all the English ones but it's hard to feel like you wouldn't be paying 4-5 times for the same stuff.

Items and characters could almost have been cut down to a sheet telling what item 1, 2 and 3 was and character 1-8 ;D

True It's like, you could play chess with just tearing a sheet of paper into 32 pieces and writing "black pawn" etc on them... and lay out a board using a big box of matches.
I guess the question about whether to get DT expansions or not could be answered by asking... would you?

I know that expansions can feel like your paying more for the same, and I guess for expansions to make sense you need to get the feeling that you're getting more... more game, more options, more fun.
My recommendation of getting the expansions is only any good if you, like I did, feel that a larger variation of characters, items and rooms is going to be more stuff rather than the same stuff.

The first batch of expansions with miniatures will not include material from the old expansions (except a few goodies that were not very widely distributed anyway)...

If you are interested in DT, you should try to find the old expansions: there is absolutely no garantee that any of this will be reprinted.

Do we? So far I've only heard mentions about it.

Earlier I think it was said Dungeon Twister would have like 20 expansions and people say the manual of Earth Reborn mention an expansion and well for DT 2rison there was talk about two character expansions but the first ones seem to have run out, so far there's not ER expansion and we haven't seen these for Prison.

Personally I'd say "yes" in that I believe you get more stuff for your money.

But then you can argue whatever 8 tiles bring so much more and for things such as the first expansion there wasn't any truly interesting characters / new abilities of which I'm aware of so I guess compared to that the new ones may actually bring more / as much "new" in each expansion even though it's only two tiles and four characters each.

But what do I know.
