A sequel to Chaos on the dining table session report.
Played again on Jan 21st. Didn't document the game as much as I wanted to, so there's not a lot of detail in the following account. And as curious as I was, I didn't read the strategy guide (suggested by Umbratus in my previous session report) for want of discovering how Slaanesh plays for myself. As the powers of Chaos would have it, I drew Slaanesh, and ZenMaster (BigD), who played Slaanesh previously, got to play Khorne. Gus drew Tzeentch, and Bastien (aka ChatBus on BGG) played Nurgle.
Nurgle took off in the beginning, outpacing us by far with victory points attributed to corruptions and domination. Khorne was following behind, but I think our last play's experience with Khorne taught the rest of us to be wary of his presence in regions. Tzeentch and Slaanesh were slow starters, but by midway through both gods had picked up the pace. Drawing too much attention, the other players focused on shutting down Nurgle before he got too far ahead with victory points and dial advancements.
The 5th and 6th turns saw the ruining of the Empire and two more regions going down. Tzeentch was speeding along with victory points and dial advancements, taking warpstones with him where-ever region he went (to ensure further dial advancements) matching Khorne's pace for dial advancements. Nurgle's efforts had been stymied but not enough to eliminate the god as a threat. Slaanesh was making his presence felt, but with a slow dial advancement and lagging tally of victory points, didn't pose much of a threat to the others as they did to one another.
The 7th turn saw Tzeentch and Khorne end their dials to Victory, despite Nurgle and Slaanesh's best efforts to slow them down. Tzeetch had the higher victory point score, so won the game. I think Nurgle was sitting at 49 points, one shy of the required 50, but had no where near as much dial advancements. Slaanesh was well behind in all aspects.
This was a much closer game than the last one. I really liked playing Slaanesh and wouldn't hesitate to play that god again. A tricky god to play with and very situational. Has a lot of options but all depends on what the board offers. I also think I overlooked some useful Chaos magic cards in preference to dominating others. Now I might have a read of that strategy guide...
And yes, no liquids were allowed on the table for this game
Winner: Tzeentch Least winner: Slaanesh
Below: Khorne (Left), Nurgle (Middle) and Tzeetch (Right)

Yes, it was great fun! It took just over 2.5 hours to play, but because I was heartily enjoying myself, time flew past so quickly.
