I've been looking to get a copy of Civ + Adv. Civ for some time now, but the price is prohibitive. I came across this CD at ahgeneral.org which looks to me to have everything needed to recreate the game(s).
AHGeneral.org looks legitimate to me, can anyone comment to the quality of and whether it would be feasible to do a PnP with the CD's contents?

You are much better off printing the cards and counters from the civproject site http://ftp.jon.severinsson.net/pub/.
They are free and better quality than any scans would be. As for the map, you will find many excellent maps in the files section here.

AHGeneral.org is not legitimate.
That said, it is quite feasible to build a copy of the game using the CD.
However, it you attach *any* value to your time, given the time, effort, equipment, and supplies involved, it will be much, much, cheaper and easier to just buy the game on the open market. You should be able to pick up a player's copy in the very low 3 figures or less.
If you are going to make your own, I second using the CivProject material, rather than the CD. Also there are multiple Trade card decks available on ArtsCow; you should strongly consider using those, rather than printing your own.
