Played this today and the whole grop felt that this map and it's rules really exacerbated the luck problem with goods production in the AOS rules. The limited number of cubes combined with everyone starting with a 6 loco makes the game very susceptible to a player gaining an insanely strong early advantage by having a 6er fall into his/her lap before any fall into opponents laps. Normally in steam, players advance at fairly similar rates, but its possible for one person to get a 6 in before opponents have even shipped 4s, which is just devastating in terms of long term positioning. This is further compounded by the clear overpowered relative to others nature of loco, the person who gets an early advantage can press that advantage by making the other players choose between not competing in auction for loco or putting themselves in a precarious stock situtation just to have the ability to threaten in the auction. Anyone have other thoughts?

I don't think I'll ever play this with the Aos rules again.
