I have had a problem with Vassal internet games with my buddy.

We have the same versions of the module and the vassal software. The problems are:

1. we see text describing each others moves, but we do not see the other pieces (generals) move when the other guys moves them - we do see each other place and remove PCs, though.

2. we do not see each other play cards. If I put one down on the map, he does not see the card go down, but there is text in the text box indicating we've manipulated the card deck or played a card.

Anyone got a clue?

Try having one of you synch to the other...

Are you guys unmasking the cards? If you don't do that, your opponent will just see the back of the card.

Your not both opening the scenario your playing and trying to play it that way are you? Normally one person sets up a room, the other joins the room. One person selects the scenario and which side he will be, and then the other person syncs to you, this will then give him options of which side you didn't pick and then you play each other that way.

If you are a veteran user of Vassal and have done this, then it does sound like you are out of sync, which can happen from time to time (which is why it's important to start a logfile before you start moving, so it that does happen you can pick up where you left off).

Cheers
Kevin

Thank you, Kevin and guys. I will try this. I found similar problems playing CC: Napoleonics until I named the game as well. Then we were good to go. I'll report back after using the sync method. Thanks again.
