I played Desert War today, it has been a while since my last play! The Italians came away with another victory. It seems they had some nice dice rolls in the first couple of turns and resource & supply draws to get things started off well. In fact this was my best play as the Italian player, as usually I am just holding on but in this game they were pretty much on the offensive the whole game. If you take out the Bigger British Tank & Motorized Infantry units early, by surrounding them with your bigger Italian Tank and Infantry units, they can not retreat. After that the map is pretty much your for a while. At one point in the game, the Italians controlled the Mersa Matruh hex which would have end the game but on the British turn, their last group of reinforcements push them out again. So Italians clearly won by having in supply units on the Egypt side of the map. The two Fortifications I built were a waste of time in this game but in the last game before this, they saved me.

Very fast, fun play, as last time was as well!

One thing I really like about the game, is the decision on how to use your Resource & Supply points: Bring on Reinforcements, Refitting reduced units, Drawing Cards or Building Fortifications.
