I'm interested in using some of the cards uploaded here on BGG. I have the full set of blank cards too. Have people had success printing directly onto the cards? Or are you printing onto other materials? I could get a sharpie out and draw on the cards but I would love a more professional approach. Any tips?

I print on paper.
Then put the blank card into a sleeve and the printed paper in front of it.

Not muss hassle and looks and feels good.
Only works if you use sleeves of course blush

Has anyone tried printing directly to the cards? Would only a certain type of printer work?

Problem I see with that, that the paper in most printers gets like bended 180degrees.
Don't know if that would work with cards that are as solid as the race cards...

Sorry, no definitive answer

I have this for Dominion and RftG;

Avery makes Full Sheet Self Stick Clear Labels. Print your cards out on this, I think with RftG you can get 9 cards per sheet if memory serves.

Cut them out with a paper cutter or scissors, slightly smaller than the card themselves. The borders should blend if you are using templates or cards uploaded from the files on BGG.

At first I was just putting an additional blank clear label over the printed to protect the ink, but now I use a protective spray that can be found a local hobby store to spray the cards with after I adhere the labels.

This method has worked really well and 1st timers can rarely tell that my home brew Dominion cards or the RftG adds are not part of the original game or one of there expansions!

The sheets I use are so thin, it does not seem to affect card thickness as far as shuffling is concerned.

Happy Gaming!

This is brilliant. I followed the thread because I had contemplated the same thing as the OP, and I'm not sure what he'll think, obviously, but it's outright perfect for me. I work at Staples and get a discount on the labels, even. Thanks!

Some allow you to load from the back without bending. I guess my question is: 'has anyone tried that and how did it come out?' The label idea is genius too and might be the way to go. Thanks for all the replies.

I printed on white paper, and put them in sleeves.

All official card go in sleeves as well. I use some old trival pursuit cards that I place behind the printed paper.

Works very well.

I got over 60 additional cards done like this. Plays out very well.
