Got the game yesterday and would like to paint the figures.
I found out who is Napoleon, but who is who of the rest?
Would like the uniforms to be correct and not make a mess of it!

Nice link, but I also need to know which figure is which person. Or doesn't it matter when playing the game (I've not gone all the way through the rules yet)?

It does not really matter (as long as you can link without problems a figure and his card).
