Neet review. Great game.

Personally I thought Red Dawn was ok. Neither great nore bad. But interesting nonetheless.

As for the helicopter. It allways makes me think of Blue Thunder rather than Airwolf. Mainly due to the base look and forward mounted gun.

Im surprised you missed that the mobiles are based on the Ark II.

Of course, it also goes without saying that if Frank Cobretti showed up in the middle of the Colorado winter driving a jet black Mercury and spraying the Reds in all directions with a "Never-needs-reloading" Uzi in each hand, then this would have instantly morphed into the greatest '80's action movie of all time!

Followed by him cutting a pizza slice in half with scissors.

Of course if there is some alternate 80s world where rouge cops slaughter villains, I'm sure he did do that during the great commie invasion. Now I wonder what Jack Burton, Robocop, and Dutch would be doing during all of that.

I 'd love play game set in the 80s action/scifi universe. You'd get to talk a lot of shit before wasting criminals, aliens, monsters, and corporate hacks. It would be awesome.

In Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, you go to Hollywood where you can recruit stars like Stallone, Arnold, I think Eastwood, and a few others. I think they were basically treated like Commandos, but they had the funny cliche sterotype voice.

A fun review to read, but a bit of a misplaced paean to a game that is a total rip-off of SPI'S Invasion: America (right down to the factions involved), which preceded it by ten years.

I'm glad you brought this up, but I stand by my paean. The SPI game obviously lacks panache, but I could say that about 90% of their games.

Whoa, someone else saw that movie. Man, I used to own it on VHS, but then again I am a Roy Scheider fan.

I bought this game when it first came out... I already owned the other games in the Gamemasters series, and was excited to get this one.

Honestly, MB nailed this right on the head. It is one of the most tense games I have ever played.

It does not matter which side you play, you will be sweating bullets trying to defeat the opposing player.

Great game! I am glad to see it is finally being re-released!

As for the unbelievable aspect of it... well, what game is so damn believable that when you play it every body says, "Wow, this game is
EXACTLY like real life!"

This is a great review of a game I love.

My only issue is that you have used many pictures from other people. You might want to mention them and give them credit.

Besides that, a top notch job!

I have been using pictures since 2008 or so and no issues have been brought with regards to this, but you are right some credits would have been good. I'll do it for my next reviews.

btw, I am a fan of your pictures.

Thanks, i've been a great fan of your geeklist and reviews! Keep up the great work!

Invasion: America is a hex-and-counter game in the standard 1970's fashion, and we thought it was great when it came out.

I own both of them, and IMHO, Fortress America is more fun to play.

It was a lot of fun. Not realistic, but nobody ever said it was supposed to be.
