Hi there,

In our games we had a couple of minor issues:

First of all, what happens in the following situation?
-The defending player has a 4 strength artillery piece
-The attacking player uses metallurgy's battle and attacks with a 3 infantry with the 3 bonus.

Does the infantry unit win or does it still get trumped? If it wins, does it die from the 4 wounds?

Second question, we have a popular strategy with feudalism. As you well know, feudalism lets you harvest resources in other cities. Let's say our capital has incense in it. Can you use your three cities to gather that incense in the same turn? Or should you have 3 incense in your three cities to do that?

Thanks in advance!

Trumping happens even if the trumped unit is the one attacking, so in this case, the artillery would kill the infantry without taking damage. Since the infantry never got to attack, Metalworking wouldn't have any effect.

If neither unit trumped the other, both units would die- the strength 3 unit would take 4 damage, and the strength 4 unit would take 6 damage.

There's nothing clear in the rules or FAQ either way. The closest we have to precedent is the errataed Angkor Wat, which explicitly says that a city can harvest the same resource twice with its double harvest. So that suggests there's no rule against harvesting a resource icon more than once in a turn.

No, you can not double (or triple) dip on a single resource square.

The only way to harvest twice from the same resource square is with the revised Ankor Wat wonder.

Alright, that helped.

At least culture isn't as broken to pursue with feudalism and metal casting now that we'll play correctly.

And with the combat: I guess we'll have diversify our armies, instead of eliminating the better units with metallurgy....Or we'll use mathematics.

Thanks again!
