I'm so in. Games I'll bring and would like to play: Dune, Cosmic Encounter (I have the Mayfair edition), Transformer, Dozo. Kingmaker would be nice too.
I can bring Diplomacy and Britannia, and I'm always ready to teach mahjong to new players too.

So I'm hoping to be signed up for Sunday. I'm a total newbie for these things, but am willing to play and learn anything. Just keep an eye out for the lost looking guy with a giant beard due to a wager with my son.

Soon it will make sense to get a bigger room.

Soon it will make sense to get a bigger room. I'm a bit surprised that no one has yet stepped up to the plate to organize a sister event. For years now people have been saying things like, "You should hold one of these events in [eastern/western/northern/southern suburb]" or "You need a bigger room". I think, though, that Jeff is pretty happy (as he should be) with the current scale and attendance of the Marathons, which already requires substantial effort on his part.
The next natural step, then, would be for someone to help carry the torch. Armin Brueckner has been a big help in this regard, taking over some of the Thursday/Friday responsibilities. Beyond that, though, it may be time for a mirror event in other communities and/or on alternative dates (e.g. the fourth weekend of each month in Maple Grove). The current location works great for me, and it's all I can do to clear my schedule for one of these per month, but the current demand suggests a need for some brave soldier to answer the call of duty. Who will it be?

Part of me wants to do something, but I haven't even attended one of these yet.

The new Source location opens on March 1. I will be there trying to set something up on a monthly basis in the new gaming area.

I thought you would be too busy trying to figure out how to convert your goods to reliquaries more efficiently. Or are you just going to let Backstrom kick your butt in Ora et Labora again?

I've been thinking about trying to organize a FtF Diplomacy game. I think it should be a stand-alone event as the game takes several hours to complete.

On Sunday I plan to host a game of either:
All expansions Arkham Horror
or
All expansions Talisman (4th edition)
Anyone interested in either one? I will host whichever has more interest. Post here or send me a geekmail.

I would be interested in Arkham Horror if you are willing to teach.

I would totally be down for Arkham, depending on when you start. I just got the base game a few weeks ago, have played it solo half a dozen times and love it.

-
Since I missed it the last time, David, I'd be up for the AH all-expansions free-for-all.

I have yet to ever attend a meetup or conference.
Should I? Yea or nay?
Wait, that's next weekend, and the 10th is when I'm closing on my new house...crap. All your forlorn yeas are for not.

My wife and I are ditching the kids and will be attending our first MBGM on Saturday. She'll be playing what ever I play.
She's not a big fan of learning new games unless it's just her and I and she can take her time. So it probably means sticking to my games (not that that's a bad thing). I'd love to get some multi-player tries in of Founding Fathers and Cuba. Take a look at my collection and let me know what else I should bring.

Looks like there is more interest in Arkham Horror. So prepare yourself for the horror that is Cthulhu......and may we all die a glorious death!
We should officially start somewhere around noon. I will start setting up around 11am so if you need rule explanation or want to help set up you can arrive before noon.

A few reminders;
At the Hampton Inn coffee, tea, and milk is available at the breakfast bar for free. This is made possible by the on-duty hotel staff and not the hotel management. Please be discreet.
The food at the breakfast bar is not free. To take food before 10am a person must pay $5 to the hotel front desk.
The commons area is not available for MBGM attendees to use until after 10AM. It is then available for us to use for overflow that exceeds the conference room capacity. In return, before 10AM the meeting room is available for the hotel guests to use as overflow for their breakfast.
Even after 10AM we do not have permission to take over the entire common area or hotel. The hotels have been generous to provide us partial use of the common area/lobby at no additional cost and use of the conference room at a severely reduced rate. We have been told that the common area is not available for rent. A 65 person event capacity already puts the conference room into an overfilled situation. The point is that at this time the 65 person daily event capacity must be adhered to. If you have not received RSVP confirmation or remain on the waiting list the morning of the event, please attend on a different day or wait for a subsequent event. There will be more.
Thank you for your understanding and I plan to defeat you at MBGM36.
